A brilliant piece of propaganda . Kudos to ABC. The editing, the narration, the hosting. Imagine ... if it were actually based on REAL FACTS .

It was based on projections...and it was a great MOVIE.

The sad thing- people will believe this- and yes..it will be turned into a course at schools.

FEAR.....it's the only way to control some of us.

Investigative Reporting vs. PR

I miss investigative reporting. The kind where you come away with the Truth. Remember that ? Did it ever actually happen? Or did we always have to sift through piles of slanted spun and rinsed pap to find out what we needed to know and then confirm it for ourselves ?

Now...with a few exceptions..it's mostly PR(puppet reporting;we say this: you say this. we say that you say that)

Puppet reporting usually has one of two goals: ratings or revenue. The problem is, the puppets rarely achieve either for long. (because they're puppets)

When was the last time you read, listened to or watched a "news" story and thought..

"wow! these people went to the ends of the earth and turned over every stone to get THIS story..and it's a darn good thing or the world may have never known"

Eventually reporters, good ones, have to take risks, puppets don't(they're puppets).
Eventually real reporters will upset some people with the Facts, puppets rarely upset people(they're puppets)
Investigative reporters don't wait for facts to fall in their lap , they go out and Find them....it's called investigating. Puppets don't do that,(they're puppets and they need to be fed-wait that's a chia pet)
Investigative reporters dig for the truth no matter how upsetting it may be to their own view.

WATCH THIS MOVIE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS

I've always thought Kevin Bacon was one of the greatest actors of our generation. The HBO film
TAKING CHANCE officially confirms his acting greatness. The fact that he took on this project says a lot about him as a person.

TAKING CHANCE is a wonderful reminder of the greatness of our country but more importantly the patriotism of Americans. It is beautifully filmed, eloquently written and brilliantly acted.

It is a true story. Make sure you watch the extra features on the DVD. Although this movie does not fit into many in the media's
narrative of who and what America is- I'd love to see it shown in High Schools...at least as often as Al Gore or Michael Moore's films are viewed.

Lieutenant Colonel Michael Strobl USMC co-wrote the film - it is based on his journal. That started as an after action report of his escorting the body of a fallen Marine back home.

It still amazes me

At one time both our sons could fit into a shoe box. Today my youngest who's 4, weighed in at 39 pounds and he's 3 1/2 feet tall. They'll probably both be taller than their mom and me by the time their in high school. This still amazes me.
